Job Description Job Description SUMMARY Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the branch. Works with Director of Operations and Territory Sales Managers to develop strategies to improve customer service, drive additional sales, increase profitability by controlling costs, create policies and marketing programs that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base. Ensures that all customer needs are met and service is quick and efficient. Directs warehouse and delivery operations in a safe, clean, organized, efficient manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure branch performs to expected financial standards, with growing revenue and well-managed operating expenses Maintains a safe, clean, well-organized, well-maintained facility Identify & implement process improvements to increase staff efficiency. Actively works with outside sales team to fulfill customer needs Assist walk-in and telephone customers; help solve their application needs Ability to troubleshoot and make suggestions for customer solutions Ensure customer orders are pulled from stock according to picking/fulfillment instructions. Product is clean, sufficiently boosted and labeled before delivery Works closely with the Materials Department to maintain appropriate inventory levels Conducts regular cycle counts to achieve inventory accuracy Oversee and participate in the picking, shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in stock Establish standards and sort and place merchandise on racks, shelves, or in bins according to those standards Record amounts of items received or distributed in computerized inventory control system Participate in required training and acquire certifications as directed by management Performs other related duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise warehouse and driver staff Responsible for adequately staffing the branch to ensure quality service while maximizing efficiency Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS Operational experience with facilities, driver fleets, warehousing, general office, field installations, customer service, sales, technology, vehicle logistics and process background. Professionalism without fail, and the ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively & efficiently with all levels of management. Excellent communication and customer service skills Excellent time management, multitasking and prioritization skills. Ability to work independently – self-starter Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, shipping manifests, packing lists and/or shipping lists Basic math skills with ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide Previous experience in a warehouse environment and experience with multi-carrier shipping systems preferred Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, inventory and warehouse management systems, Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
