TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Neuro RN in Parkersburg, West Virginia, 26101! Pay Information $2,452 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Ortho-Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps. Description: Unit has 33 beds, all private rooms. Ratios are 1 to 6. Common diagnoses include elective surgeries for hips, knees, shoulders, as well as fractures from falls, and neuro-surgeries. RNs are not required to titrate drips. RNs will manage IV fluids and PCA pumps. Charge Nurse is present 24/7. Day charge nurse may take patients if necessary; night charge nurse will always take a full patient assignment. Unit aims for 4 Patient Care Techs when full, usually a maximum of 3, sometimes only 2 depending on staffing. Patient Care Tech duties include monitoring vitals, performing FSBS, assisting with ADLs, and they can discharge Foley catheters. Respiratory equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow is managed by Respiratory Therapy. Remote telemetry is used if needed, monitored by another floor. RNs are not required to read telemetry strips. Shifts are from 0700-1930 or 1900-0730 with a 30-minute lunch break. Permanent staff self-schedule. Travelers will be scheduled based on unit needs and block scheduling is allowed if unit requirements are met. Weekend requirements entail every-other-weekend shifts. Holiday work is expected based on unit needs and staffing levels. Travelers are the first to float to other units, with floating required to any medical-surgical units. RNs will be assigned patients within their skill set if floated to telemetry. Dress code for scrubs is royal blue; no hoodies or sweat-jackets allowed.
