TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Columbia, Missouri, 65212! Pay Information $2,122 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in Med/Surg License: MO or Compact license required Certifications: BLS required, CPI preferred Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios between 1:5 and 1:7 - Ability to float to Med/Surg and Med/Surg/Tele units - First-time travelers accepted Description: The Medical Specialties unit has a maximum capacity of 57 patients. This unit services patients with a wide range of medical diagnoses. Room amenities include video monitoring capability, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms. A charge nurse and supervisor are present on every shift. The average nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 for days and 1:6 for nights. Day shift nurses may care for up to 6 patients, while night shift nurses may have up to 7. Candidates with 2 years of experience are preferred, but those with 1.5 years may be considered. Nurses will work 50% of holidays that fall within the contract. Requests for time off on holidays will not be granted, but flexibility will be provided in determining which holidays to work. Candidates must be willing to accept first-time travel assignments. Patient demographics primarily include adults. The daily census operates at around 53 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Common patient diagnoses include diabetes complications, COPD exacerbation, renal failure, and cellulitis. Special equipment includes ceiling lifts and various infusion pumps.
