SUMMARY General Description: We are currently seeking qualified rising graduates pursuing a higher education degree program to participate in our 17-week paid internship program. Under direct supervision, this position is primarily responsible for compiling records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment. Responsibilities and Duties: Supports the logistics aspect of the MARS Inventory Control System, including: stocking, database entry, parts and material tracking, and preparing transmittals with appropriate certifications and approvals. Receives delivered materials, equipment, and supplies, confirms that all parts match the material stock request descriptions and expected quantity, document arrival condition and verify all necessary paperwork is received. Supports receipt inspection of materials, supplies, spares, and repair parts to ensure compliance with requirements. Organizes and manages inventory certificate of conformance for all pad components. Evaluates clean part inventory levels and sends to parts to be cleaned when required. Oversees external repair order process including distributing parts requiring repair/work or cleaning, as well as inspecting and documenting returned units. Conducts semiannual inventory audit to ensure all items in stock, accounted for and properly stored. Assesses inventory levels and coordinates replenishment with Materials Manager. Researches and responds to inquiries regarding inventory levels and part availability. Distributes materials, equipment, and supplies to field per material stock request. Investigates inventory discrepancies and takes corrective measures to resolve concerns. Other duties as assigned. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS General Education College: Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university Major: Logistics-related field Job-Related Experience: N/A Certifications: N/A Licenses, etc.: Valid driver's license is necessary when operating a vehicle while on agency business. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Knowledge: Knowledge of logistics-related processes and regulations Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills Organization and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office or related programs. SharePoint experience preferred. Abilities: Time management with an ability to meet deadlines. Good at working in teams and individually. Physical Demands: Work is light requiring lifting of computer equipment and involves typical office behaviors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Position may travel between sites. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting and a warehouse. Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for issuance of a NASA credential. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
