Clinical Pharmacist Highlights • The pay for this position is $60.00 per hour . • Monday–Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm EST • Onsite for the first month of training; hybrid once metrics are met • This position is full-time . Responsibilities Clinical Duties • Conduct comprehensive clinical pharmacotherapy reviews, including drug utilization, interactions, compliance, counseling, and administration support. • Document all clinical assessments and pharmacotherapy reviews in the patient chart to support nursing follow-ups. • Counsel patients on new therapies, ensuring full understanding of treatment plans and medication-specific requirements. • Complete required REMS training and operate in accordance with all associated SOPs. • Coordinate patient care with referring clinicians, addressing social, psychological, and physical needs that require customized services. • Serve as a liaison between patients, caregivers, home health nurses, hospice teams, and prescribing providers. • Provide subcutaneous teaching support to patients and caregivers or coordinate appropriate nursing services. • Participate in on-call rotation as directed by the Pharmacist-in-Charge. • Process and verify prescriptions accurately and efficiently per regulatory and company standards. • Assign appropriate therapy outcomes and deactivate patient profiles upon discontinuation of service. • Act as primary intake for new referrals initiated by phone and deliver exceptional customer service. Operational Duties • Adhere to all federal and state requirements related to Medicaid, Medicare, controlled substances, and pharmacy operations. • Perform verification of order entry, final product accuracy, and quality assurance checks. • Support pharmacy technicians in claim adjudication and ensure proper payment processing. • Monitor hazardous waste management procedures. • Supervise technician aseptic technique and sterile compounding practices. • Participate in adverse event and product quality reporting per regulatory requirements. Professional Expectations • Maintain CE completion in compliance with Board of Pharmacy requirements. • Support professional development of assigned team members. • Participate in ongoing learning, conferences, and staff education. • Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills and uphold exceptional customer service standards. Requirements • Active and unrestricted North Carolina pharmacist license in good standing (mandatory). • Must live within one hour driving distance of Cary, NC 27513. • 3 years of direct patient counseling experience required; must enjoy phone-based patient support (up to 8 hours/day). • 3–5 years of experience in pharmacy operations, clinical oversight, and patient care. • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy. • BCOP certification preferred or willingness to obtain when eligible. • Ability to gain additional state licensures as needed. • Strong communication, technology, and documentation abilities. • Working knowledge of sterile technique and quality control practices.
