Responsibilities Work in a 25-bed adult Med/Surg unit with private and semi-private rooms Predominant patient population includes stroke, hospice, comfort care, and various post-operative cases Typical nurse-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights, occasionally managing one total care patient Manages cases such as amputations, drains, chest tubes, feeding tubes, heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status, CIWA, AKI, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required Responsible for care of a wide range of adult Med/Surg patients, with a focus on stroke and comfort care Must be willing to work Thanksgiving or Black Friday, as well as Christmas Eve and Christmas Unit includes a mix of private and semi-private patient rooms Stroke certification is preferred RNs routinely provide care to post-op patients and those requiring a variety of specialized interventions Requirements Active IL RN license required Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience Ability to work night shifts and required holiday dates Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-634338.
