Job SummaryKutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations. The Department of Elementary, Middle Level, Library, and Technologies at Kutztown University invites applications for a tenure-track, teacher education position at the Assistant Professor level for Fall 2026. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service. Responsibilities include Teaching undergraduate and graduate teacher education courses in STEM, math, and science pedagogies and methods, as well as the clinical supervision of teacher candidates in field placements. Minimum QualificationsApplicants must hold a doctorate in education or an education-related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, provided there is clear evidence of degree completion by the start of the Spring 2027 semester. Experience teaching in higher education. A minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience is required, specifically in grades PreK- 8. Additionally, applicants must possess a valid, state-level PreK-8 teacher certification or license. Preferred QualificationsExpertise and/or experience in intermediate elementary (grades 4-5), middle level education (grades 4-8), clinical supervision, and/or instructional coaching. Evidence of effective teaching, service, leadership, and scholarship in teacher education and/or STEM-focused research within professional settings related to teaching children, with experience working with ELL students. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in STEM, mathematics, or science instruction. Candidates with expertise in culturally responsive/sustaining approaches and experience with culturally and linguistically diverse communities are especially encouraged to apply.
