Children, Education and Justice Services Primary Teacher - fixed term until 18/12/2026 Craigentinny Primary School Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 (pro-rata for part time) Hours: 27.30 per week (not Wednesday) Craigentinny Primary School is a non-denominational school which was opened in 1935 and serves the Lochend/Restalrig district of Leith. There are currently around 300 pupils in the school, organised into 12 mainstream classes with two additional enhanced support classes. We are looking to recruit a committed, enthusiastic teacher to make a contribution to the development and delivery of high quality education at Craigentinny Primary School. This is a fixed term position for a Primary 1 class. The position has arisen due to maternity leave and is likely to continue until 18/12/2026 but this is not guaranteed. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
