System Engineer

Systems Engineer (Milsatcom) Portsmouth 6-Month contract Paying up to £55p/h HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM Requirements capture and definition from stakeholder needs through to sub-systems; ownership of traceability and verification. Verification, Validation and Test (VV&T) support Ground System level architectural design definition and trade-offs Working with Engineering Leads and Partners to define the segment and associated sub-system architectures via integrated Working Groups Technical proposal inputs Solution Lead for customer and internal governance reviews Technical support to bidding teams Systems Engineering and project management inputs as required - to support planning, schedule and cost activities Inform stakeholders on progress and problem resolution ABOUT YOU University degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related discipline Experience in the design, integration and roll out of end-to-end digital telecommunications systems (milsatcom desirable) covering space, control and ground segments using Waterfall or Agile methodologies Experience of defining solutions within an Architectural Framework using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and appropriate tools (EA desirable) Experience of engagement with customers and partners Working understanding of portfolios in terms of satellite platforms and payloads, satellite control, mission control, and network control Robust presentation and writing skills
