Yard Hand Driver/Freight Handler Must have yard HC truck licence & experience About the opportunity We’re looking for a Yard Truck Driver/Freight Handler to join our diverse and hard-working team. With e-commerce booming, our freight handlers are the folks making sure consignments are correctly loaded so we can get deliveries out to our customers, fast. This role is combined as a Yard Truck Driver as well, completing approximately 50 moves within Depot. Roster / Pay Monday to Friday 5.30am - 1.30pm (7.5 work hours per day) Upgraded to $36.14ph as Yard Truck Driver ($33.14ph Freight work) 12% Superannuation Leave entitlements You’ll be Predominantly doing Yard Truck operations. Opening rear doors, crack seals, inspect freight Determine where freight needs to go - this skill will be developed Placing items where they need to go or carting to a different area Ensuring set up sheets are followed Answering 2 way calls for movements across the depot Freight Handling as required: Handloading parcels and cartons from conveyor belts into trucks, ready for our drivers to head out on the road. Unloading trucks when drivers get back to the warehouse. Wrapping freight by hand or using a shrink wrapper (you know - like the ones at the airport), electronically scanning parcels and updating documentation. About you You’ve got a HC truck licence. You’re fit and can lift at least 30kg repeatedly – we assess this at a pre-employment medical check to help make sure you’re safe on the job. You’re laser focused, even when the role gets repetitive. You’re a team player, passionate about helping our team keep the community connected. You’re also an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
