The Estates Transformation Programme was approved in 2021 with the objective of transforming every building across the Police Scotland estate, to ensure they fully meet the needs of modern policing. The Estates Transformation Programme reflects our commitment to partnership and creating a modern estate that can attract, retain, and empower our people as well as enabling the use of technology to improve operational effectiveness. Digital Division will work alongside the Estates Transformation Programme team to transform properties into a new modern network of buildings which will support a digitally enabled service model. About the Role As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing end user support, both remotely and on-site, supporting multiple technologies whilst providing an excellent level of customer service by following processes and procedures that underpin the approach to the operational support of the Police Scotland end user estate, systems and infrastructure. This will include advising and leading on technical solutions as required as part of new technologies, projects and challenges as they arise. Responsibilities Providing end user support, both remotely and on-site. Supporting multiple technologies. Delivering excellent customer service by following established processes and procedures. Advising and leading on technical solutions as required. Participating in new technologies, projects, and challenges as they arise. Qualifications You will be educated to HNC or industry certification level in a related technical discipline or have extensive demonstrable experience in a similar role. Required Skills Strong analytical skills. Ability to work to tight and multiple deadlines. Self-motivated, discrete, and confident. Ability to use own initiative and deal with a varied programme of work. Approachable with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Understanding and encouragement of an excellent customer service approach. Motivation, commitment, integrity, and ethical behavior. Ability to organise own workload, multitask, and prioritise work to meet deadlines. Accurate and precise in work. Ability to work under pressure. Preferred Skills Experience and/or a qualification in ITIL methodology. Significantly contributes to the promotion of the department with excellent customer service and team working ethics. Pay range and compensation package This post is temporary for 18 months and will require RV level vetting. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm. The post holder will be required to participate in an on-call Rota for which an allowance will be paid. A driving licence is required for this role.
