About the role As the Intake and Assessment Officer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding prospective clients through their journey with our Social & Community Services. Your focus will be on conducting thorough intake assessments, ensuring each client's unique choices and preferences are at the forefront. By collaborating closely with clients and maintaining strong relationships with external partners, you will facilitate seamless access to appropriate services and support, adhering to the "No Wrong Door" policy. In this dynamic position, you will contribute to a positive team environment through active participation in meetings, professional development, and innovation initiatives. Responsibilities will include conducting client risk assessments, advocating for client rights, and maintaining meticulous documentation. You will also play an essential role assisting in training volunteers and students, while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation. This is a Permanent Part-Time position working 68.4 hours fortnight based at our Strathpine service. Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements Diploma in Community Services or a similar field Current National Police Check Current Blue Card Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Behavioural Sciences or a related field (desired) About You: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively and sensitively with diverse clients, including those with challenging behaviours. Experience in establishing client goals and providing supportive guidance. Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and across service boundaries. Understanding of contemporary legislation and practices, with a focus on child-centred and whole-of-family frameworks. Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software in daily tasks.
