Non-Executive Director - Pacific Link Housing Limited Our Organisation Pacific Link Housing is a not-for-profit for purpose Central Coast based company; providing affordable, community-based, rental housing for people with limited access to traditional and mainstream housing in the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Hunter Valley and Port Stephens areas. The organisation manages over 1,200 properties. It has built a range of partnerships to provide additional support services for its clients and a suite of programs to provide opportunities for residents in education and employment. The Pacific Link Housing Group comprises the holding company limited by guarantee and two wholly owned proprietary limited subsidiaries. These are social enterprises: a rent-for-purpose real estate agency, Key2 Realty Pty Ltd, the profits from which will fund future resident programs, and a maintenance contractor, Renew Projects Pty Ltd, the profits from which fund sustainability projects. In furthering the Company's mission to add to affordable rental housing supply in the region, Pacific Link Housing conducts an ongoing program of property development projects, either independently, in joint ventures or in collaboration with government. Over the last ten years the Company has constructed or acquired 168 housing units across a dozen projects and is currently pursuing a diverse range of development opportunities to add to the project pipeline. The Company's on-going registration as a Community Housing Provider requires constant Board and management attention. Pacific Link is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission. The Role As a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider, Pacific Link Housing must operate under the expert guidance of a skilled Board of Directors. Due to an impending Board vacancy, we are currently seeking expressions of interest from a range of skilled candidates with extensive professional experience and expertise primarily in residential property development, procurement, finance and construction . Other relevant areas of experience include: community housing strategic and financial management real estate services strategic asset management social policy development, and experience in advocacy and government procurement . In addition to roles and responsibilities as director of Pacific Link Housing Limited, there may be opportunities to contribute as director of the subsidiaries or as a member or chair of one or more Board Committees. Current Board Committees comprise Growth, Governance and Finance Risk & Audit. The Candidate To be successfully appointed as a Director on the Board of Pacific Link Housing, each candidate must also demonstrate that they possess the time and commitment necessary to perform their duties as a Director, commensurate with the size, nature and strategic intent of Pacific Link Housing. Directors must also be eligible to work in Australia on a permanent basis. Given Pacific Link Housing's charitable status, Directors are remunerated at a level that is benchmarked to similar organisations. Annual remuneration would fall into the following band: $25,000 to $40,000pa including superannuation guarantee, depending on responsibilities. Nominations for the position of Director are subject to the endorsement and approval by members in accordance with Pacific Link Housing's constituent rules.
