Employment Type: Permanent Part Time Position Classification: Speech Pathologist Level 3 Remuneration: $56.69 - $58.52 per hour plus superannuation Hours Per Week: 27 Requisition ID: REQ613276 Applications Close: Sunday, 2 November 2025 Speech Pathologist Palliative and Supportive Care, Prince of Wales Hospital Recent funding enhancements for palliative care has enabled Prince of Wales Hospital to establish a new palliative care service. Patients are supported via an MDT clinic and community based visits to deliver end of life care, with dignity, comfort and quality of life at the centre of all interactions. An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced speech pathologist to join this team on a permanent, part-time basis. The Role The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives'. Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within the field of palliative and end of life care in order to provide high quality patient centered supportive care that is consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. This includes clinical guidelines to support comfort feeding balancing a risk management approach to dysphagia and dignity of risk. Where You'll be Working Prince of Wales Hospital is located just a short distance from the sandy beaches of the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and the hospital has recently undergone a major multi million dollar redevelopment. Whilst professional and clinical governance sits with the dynamic and welcoming speech pathology team, you will form part of a wider palliative MDT that offers supportive care to patients in a weekly clinic as well as in the community. Selection Criteria To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and membership to Speech Pathology Australia. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in providing Speech Pathology services for people who are at end of life or under palliative care in a hospital and/or community setting.
