Full time ongoing role availableSalary from $76K pa to $120K pa super (actual salary paid will be dependent on skills, experience and qualifications)Located at the W B Clarke Geoscience Centre, Londonderry (Western Sydney), NSW The Geological Survey of NSW (part of NSW Resources) is looking for a Geoscientist to undertake geoscientific assessments and projects to provide informed advice to clients, helping facilitate effective mineral resource exploration and development in NSW. About The Role Based at the W B Clarke Geoscience Centre in Londonderry, you will: Provide expert data and advice to drive innovation in geoscientific services.Collect and analyse geo-scientific data (data mining) from a variety of sources to uncover valuable insights and trends.Administer and maintain geoscientific databases, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for stakeholders.Support the acquisition, retention, and preservation of drill core samples, maintaining a comprehensive geological archive.Collaborate on a range of projects, both independently and as part of a team.Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and industry best-practice standards. What We’re Looking For To be successful you’ll need a tertiary qualification in geoscience (or equivalent), as well as a current Class C Driver’s Licence. You’ll Also Need To Have Geoscientific Expertise: Demonstrable knowledge of the NSW resources sector and/or mineral/resource exploration, combined with detailed knowledge of NSW Geology, NSW mineral systems, hard rock petrology/geochronology and/or isotopic geology.Advanced Computer Skills: Including the ability to interpret and analyse geological and resource data, relational database administration (spatial/aspatial) and data validation.Project Management Experience: Experience working both independently and within teams to deliver projects efficiently.Sound Communication Skills: The ability to provide clear, informed advice to stakeholders and communicate complex information effectively.Research & Laboratory Experience: Familiarity with geoscientific research methods and laboratory practices.
