Job Summary The Junior Production Planner position involves developing and maintaining weekly production schedules, coordinating with various departments to ensure the availability of materials and resources, and monitoring production progress to address any issues or delays. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet production goals while adhering to safety and quality standards. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain weekly production schedules to ensure optimal use of resources and timely delivery of products. Coordinate with procurement, material planning, and production teams to ensure the availability of necessary materials and resources for production. Track and monitor production activities to ensure adherence to schedules, and promptly address any delays or issues that arise. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to understand demand forecasts and adjust production plans accordingly. Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular production reports to management, highlighting key metrics, potential risks, and areas for improvement. Ensure all production activities comply with Hill's Pet Nutrition's quality standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall effectiveness. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to manage stock levels effectively. Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities in the production process without compromising product quality. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations throughout the production process. Work closely with various departments, including procurement, sales, and CS&L teams to ensure alignment and smooth operations. Utilise production planning software (Kinaxis RapidResponse, SAP R/3, S4 Hana, PlanetTogether) to manage and optimise production schedules. Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on production goals and timelines. Participate and contribute to the weekly production planning meeting. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business, Finance or related field. 6 months of functional supply‑chain experience. Experience with SAP S4, Kinaxis (RapidResponse), Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail). Proficiencies in analytics and the application of Supply‑Chain optimisation tools/methodologies to determine process and cost improvements. Proficiency in English language. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Problem‑solving, analytical skills and ability to use decision‑making processes and judgement. Advanced knowledge of SAP, Kinaxis, and Google Workspace. Broad business knowledge and understanding of Supply‑Chain systems. Broad knowledge of manufacturing, product deployment, logistics, warehouse operations and financial reporting. Effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written communication abilities. Ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and stressful situations effectively. Strong planning and organisational abilities.
