Tax Preparer

Job Description Job Description CIMA is looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in the Camarillo area. You will be responsible for the administration of a Tax office and preparation of simple and complex, individual and small business Federal and State tax returns. This is a Part-time to Full-time, permanent position. You will play an important role in promoting our services and expertise to prospects and clients. Responsibilities Greet clients in person or over the phone in a professional manner. Informing clients on the tax preparation process Collecting relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements Inputting data from financial records into tax return software or databases Using applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return Completing and filing tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state and local government entities Acting as a representative for clients with applicable agencies as required Building customer relationships to promote and expand the business Qualifications Bilingual is desirable Prior individual and business tax preparation experience in a tax practice Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts, and familiarity with form 1040 and schedules Ability/motivation to expand expertise and obtain a tax credential or certification Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize and instill confidence In-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws, regulations and deadlines Proficiency with common tax preparation, word processing and spreadsheet software applications Great organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking Strong written and verbal communication skills and keen attention to detail We are looking forward to hearing from you.
