Head of Market Pricing

Miryco Consultants are working with a leading insurance provider undergoing a major pricing transformation programme. This ambitious initiative is redefining how pricing, modelling, and performance monitoring are executed across the business, supported by significant investment in new technology and analytical capability. We’re seeking an experienced Head of Market Pricing to drive the market pricing strategy across the Individual and SME health insurance portfolios. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, balancing volume growth and profitability while embedding best-in-class pricing and underwriting practices. You’ll lead a specialist team and have accountability for overall pricing performance, ensuring commercial success through insight-led decision-making. Responsibilities Own and deliver the pricing strategy across Individual and SME markets, driving P&L performance and underwriting profitability. Shape and develop sophisticated retail pricing models, incorporating customer behaviour and market dynamics. Lead the implementation of price optimisation strategies and secure buy-in from senior stakeholders. Manage portfolio performance through detailed forecasting, monitoring, and insight-driven decision-making. Oversee renewal pricing strategies and value-based retention initiatives to achieve growth and retention targets. Provide oversight of underwriting decisions, ensuring appropriate risk management and commercial balance. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of pricing professionals, fostering analytical excellence and innovation. Skills & Experience Deep technical expertise in insurance pricing and data modelling techniques (e.g. GLMs, machine learning, GBMs). Proven experience in price optimisation, actuarial analysis, and portfolio management. Strong leadership experience, ideally within a market pricing or actuarial team. Excellent understanding of the insurance regulatory environment. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into operational delivery. Resilient, collaborative, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
