Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care. We are seeking a motivated and detail orientated Clinical Support Officer (CSO) to join the Intensive Care Unit, where you will play a vital role in supporting nursing and clinical staff in the delivery of patient care. This position is designed to enhance the efficiency of clinical operations by providing timely and accurate administrative support across designated wards or units. Working closely with ward clerks and communication officers, the CSO will compliment existing systems and processes, ensuring smooth coordination within the health facility. You will assist the healthcare team with transactional and administrative tasks, while exercising initiative and independent judgment within established procedures. Although broad supervision will be provided, you will be expected to take proactive steps to support the functioning of the unit, with key decisions remaining under the responsibility of the NM/NUM. What you will bring to the role Holds or willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills including the ability to draft correspondence, reports, presentations and deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel Outlook and MS Teams), Healthroster, Staff link, iProcurement, Content Manager and My Health Learning. Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment. Able to demonstrate problem solving and prioritising skills. Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
