About the role: The overall purpose of the Fitness Instructor is to develop and facilitate wellness programs to support clients in maintaining their health and independence. This role is casual opportunity in our Robina Home and Community service. Effectively manage client's health and wellbeing programs in accordance with individual needs. Regularly monitor and reassess client's fitness programs and conditions. Observe and listen to promptly report to the Activities Coordinator any changes in client health or behaviour. Effectively facilitate group wellbeing programs. Act as a role model in promoting positive healthy behaviours, and assist clients in the achievement of health and independence. Organise and manage workload to ensure runs and activities are completed on time and to a satisfactory level. Develop cooperative and harmonious relationship with staff, client's and their families, whilst also identifying and maintaining professional boundaries with client's/carers at all times. Understand and be confident of how to respond appropriately in an emergency situation. Transport clients as required. Conduct relevant assessments and reviews of clients, where required and after receiving instruction and assessment in techniques/tools. Undertake risk assessments of venues using the organisation's documentation and in accordance with protocols. Complete all documentation accurately and within an acceptable time-frame About you: Have a minimum of two years' experience in a similar role. Demonstrated commitment to continuously upgrading skills, knowledge and competencies. Strong observation skills and capacity to be respondent to client's changing needs. Well organised and able to work autonomously as well as within a team environment. Good written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations and requirements. Experience within a community services, not for profit or similar organisation (desired).
