Job Description

Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Educator The Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Educator coordinates, facilitates, and expands the ongoing education and training programs for staff and consumers relating to psychosocial, child protection, wellbeing, and targeted violence abuse neglect/trauma domains across MLHD NSW. As the VAN Educator you will be responsible for: Assessing learning and developments needs of staff across the LHD in relation to psychosocial domains Developing inter-disciplinary learning opportunities Reporting on key performance areas through evaluations of learning and development programs Facilitating therapeutic group programs that support current VAN services Participating in Violence, Abuse and Neglect Services coverage where necessary Employment Type: Permanent Part Time Position Classification: Social Worker, Counsellor, Welfare Officer – Level 5 Remuneration: $130,658.00 - $133,835.00 per annum, pro rata ( super 17.5% leave loading where applicable) Hours Per Week: up to 24 Requisition ID: REQ605583 Location: Location Negotiable with MLHD What MLHD offer: Relocation Assistance and Accommodation Support considerations - Assistance for interstate applicants to help you transition smoothly into our community Make a Meaningful Impact – Play a vital role in delivering essential health services to our diverse and vibrant regional communities. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate: A relevant Tertiary Qualification (such as Social Work or Counselling) with eligibility for membership to an appropriate Australian Professional association in line with your Qualifications (such as AASW, PACFA, ACA) Experience in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of professional education and currently holds Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment, or working towards, or willingness to work towards. Extensive experience working in psychosocial clinical practice, including excellent understanding of the principles associated with child protection and trauma informed care.
