Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Midnight Position Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Core customer service responsibilities and standards - Effective communication skills - Ownership and accountability - Understanding and empathy towards patients - Motivation and sensitivity - A commitment to excellence and teamwork - Respect for diversity Description: Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination. Reviews clinical data and performs appropriate examinations. Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary. Prepares the procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linens and related supplies. Analyzes the anatomical structure of the patient, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan. Manually controls the equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area being studied. Administers intravenous contrast media, including the use of power injectors. Monitors patients for possible reactions and provides immediate care if a reaction occurs. May prepare and set up sterile equipment and supplies required for procedures. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored. Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies. Performs all imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection. Resolves image exceptions and ensures quality image delivery into the imaging system. Completes all study indexing within the Radiology Information System. Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies. Demonstrates team member standards of excellence, including open communication and a positive attitude. Performs all necessary documentation in the medical record and radiology information system. May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit. Potential exposure to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized, as well as high-voltage equipment. Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients exceeding 10 lbs. Recognizes the importance of customer service values and practices. Demonstrates flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to learn. Accepts and respects diversity without judgment.
