This role will report to the GPP General Manager. Job Purpose: To successfully implement the healthcare strategy that delivers pharmacy profitability and ensures ethical and legal compliance to healthcare laws and regulations, with a clear focus on developing a pipeline of pharmacists to deliver a sustainable future and competitive advantage for the brand. Job Objectives: To implement and drive divisional pharmacy objectives contributing to an improved financial outcome (sales and margin) and greater customer affiliation to the brand. To implement divisional business opportunities to gain market differentiation that results in sales and profit growth through continuous competitor analysis. To assume accountability for pharmacy license applications, follow up and approval, acquisitions of independent pharmacies or groups of pharmacies and recording and tracking of new dispensary openings and closures. To assume accountability with operations for the implementation of the people strategy that ensures on‑going pharmacy and professional development, builds capacity and capability to meet current and future business developments in line with the Brands Talent and Transformation agenda. To support and deliver the division's retention strategy so as to improve the retention of pharmacy staff and ensure continuous and sustained business performance. To maintain external relationships with pharmacy schools to support the pharmacist pipeline in line with the company's healthcare strategy. To ensure ethical and legal compliance with good pharmacy practice and the SAPC, and all other governing bodies (MCC, DOH and CMS) with specific focus on pharmaceutical incidents. This includes the implementation of new legislation as set out by the South African Pharmacy Council from time to time. To ensure customer service excellence by actively resolving and driving the reduction in pharmacy related customer complaints.
