Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/24/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Post-Intervention unit at a Level 1 Trauma acute care setting, requiring AZ or compact license and recent trauma experience. Responsibilities Work in a Cardiac Telemetry Post-Intervention unit within an acute care hospital Level 1 Trauma setting with 18-bed unit and a nurse-patient ratio of 3:1 Patient population includes post-cath lab/interventional procedure patients, chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, and congestive heart failure Requires interpretation of telemetry and experience with BiPAP EMR utilized is Cerner and experience is required 12-hour day shifts (7-7) with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks May be required to work up to 2 out of 4 major holidays Floating to other Tele/MedSurg units as needed Floor-specific orientation provided with 2 shifts Daily duties include caring for post-cath and cardiac patients, telemetry monitoring, and wound care procedures Will be expected to perform and demonstrate sterile skills and core clinical competencies in SIMs Lab (pass/fail assessment) Support structure includes charge nurse and nurse aides, with SWAT RN for difficult IV access and 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support Navy scrubs required Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing, and natural hair color and no facial piercings are required Returning candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the last year Must have own vehicle for travel to assignment First day of orientation includes pass/fail simulation and core process reviews Requirements Active AZ or compact RN (NLC) license required at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including recent Level 1 Trauma experience Experience in acute care telemetry units and with post-interventional/cardiac patients Ability to pass a dysrhythmia (Relias) exam prior to offer (2 attempts allowed) Ability to pass skills testing on sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes during orientation Experience with Cerner EMR required Must provide a copy of driver's license for address verification (50 mile radius rule applies) Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from last 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627532.
