Responsibilities Work in a hospital ICU with a 12-bed unit Patient population includes cardiac arrest, COVID-positive, PUI, CVA post t-PA, nonthreatening bleeds, sepsis, DKA, and intubated patients post RRTs and MSETs Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts Weekend requirement is every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday Self-scheduling and block scheduling available, 6 weeks at a time Floating may be required to PCU, 6B, and medical boarders Required to work 1 major and 1 minor holiday No on-call requirement Unit utilizes Vents, BiPap, Cpap, High Flow oxygen equipment, Artic Sun, CRRT, and EKOS systems RNs are required to read and interpret EKG strips No tele/monitor techs for critical care unit patients Clinical Technicians provide support with vital signs, EKGs, IV starts, Foley insertion, and Accuchecks Charge nurse or nurse supervisor present each shift; charge nurse only takes assignment when necessary Unit/department orientation includes 3 precepted shifts Scrub color is Navy Blue Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 First time travelers are welcomed Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience with some stepdown experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS, CRRT, and CCRN certifications preferred but not required Ability to titrate drips and troubleshoot advanced respiratory support equipment Competency in reading and interpreting EKG strips Experience managing intubated and complex critical care patients Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626773.
