Market Maker Team Lead

A Market Maker Team Lead in Web3 is responsible for leading a team that provides liquidity to crypto assets on various exchanges. This role is a blend of financial strategy, technical oversight, and team management, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of market-making activities in the volatile, 24/7 Web3 environment. Key Responsibilities: A Market Maker Team Lead's duties fall into several core areas: Strategy and Execution : Develop and implement market-making strategies for crypto assets, including setting bid-ask spreads, managing inventory, and optimizing trading algorithms. They ensure liquidity is maintained across different centralized and decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to support stable trading and price discovery. Team Leadership : Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of quantitative analysts, traders, and developers. They provide guidance on trading models, risk management protocols, and performance metrics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Risk Management : Oversee and manage the team's exposure to market risk. This includes implementing and enforcing strict risk controls, monitoring market volatility, and making swift decisions to mitigate potential losses. Partnership and Business Development : Collaborate with new and existing Web3 projects and token issuers to create tailored market-making proposals. They act as a key point of contact, building and maintaining relationships that are crucial for the business. Performance Analysis : Monitor and analyze trading performance, market data, and on-chain analytics to identify opportunities for optimization and strategy refinement. They are responsible for reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management. Skills & Qualifications: To be successful in this role, a candidate needs a strong combination of technical knowledge, financial acumen, and leadership abilities. Technical Expertise : A deep understanding of blockchain technology , decentralized finance (DeFi), and tokenomics is essential. Familiarity with high-frequency trading (HFT) systems and algorithmic trading strategies is also crucial. Financial Acumen : A solid background in traditional finance or a related field, with knowledge of market structures, derivatives, and risk management. Leadership and Communication : Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team. Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate with internal teams and external partners, as well as to simplify complex technical and financial concepts.
