Job Description

Job Title: Imaging Technologist Profession: Radiography Specialty: MRI Imaging Duration: Not Specified Shift: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 01:00pm-11:00pm Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Must graduate from an accredited radiography program and maintain continuing education requirements License: NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required Certifications: ARRT certified, BLS certification, IV certification preferred, MRI safety certification level 2 required yearly Must-Have: Strong knowledge in patient care for diverse populations Description: Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patients for procedures. Assists radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates, and cares for the imaging equipment. Adheres to established standards of care. Pursues appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned areas and duties. Adheres to established customer service protocols. Performs additional duties as assigned, including quality assurance. Exhibits professional judgment in performance of procedures. Provides patient care effectively. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following: Understands and adheres to performance standards, policies, and expected behaviors. Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing special requirements and documenting images accordingly. Assumes responsibility for designated areas and procedures, ensuring high-quality technical images and reviewing completed scans for quality and completeness. Assists physicians during procedures as necessary. Performs quality assurance and equipment calibrations as needed. Must respond to emergency procedures or unforeseen situations within the department. Maintains cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and accessories, reporting malfunctions to the supervisor. Prints patient CDs when requested. Performs routine office duties, including answering phones and managing patient information via EMR and PACS systems. Notifies staff upon exam completion. Communicates with radiologists and attending physicians regarding results, documenting communications as needed. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor. Introduces and educates patients or family members regarding the ordered examinations. Exhibits knowledge and skill in providing age-appropriate care across patient populations. Attends staff meetings and in-services. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
