Commercial Gas Service and Repair Engineer Location: Derbyshire & Leicestershire Salary: Starting from £41,600 - £45,000 per annum Additional Pay: Out-of-hours retention payment up to £1,400 plus overtime paid at 1.5x standard rate Benefits: 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays) Birthday leave after one year of service Company vehicle, mobile phone, uniform, and fuel card provided Private medical insurance (after probation) Pension scheme (after 3 months) Access to employee discounts All essential tools provided, including ladders, FGA, and initial van stock The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Commercial Gas Service and Repair Engineer to join a growing and reputable business with a strong presence across Derbyshire and Leicestershire. This new position has been created within their expanding Commercial division to meet increasing client demand, making it a great time to join and be part of their success story. Youll work with a variety of gas appliances, from domestic boilers to large industrial heating equipment, mainly within the social housing sector, including extra care facilities and properties supporting vulnerable service users. Every day will bring something different, from carrying out service and maintenance to assisting with installation projects and performing water-related maintenance tasks. This is a role that offers autonomy, variety, and real career progression for someone who thrives on problem-solving and delivering high-quality work. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and maintenance on commercial gas and plumbing systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Diagnose and repair faults quickly and effectively, minimising client downtime. Proactively identify areas for improvement and ensure plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied. Conduct safety checks, leak tests, and emissions testing in line with current regulations. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, ensuring excellent customer service at all times. Complete all relevant paperwork or app-based documentation for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works promptly. Provide engineering support during emergency situations and comply with all Gas Safe safety standards. Participate in ongoing training and development to keep your skills and certifications up to date. What Were Looking For Relevant Commercial Gas qualifications: CCN1, COCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, DAH1, CODNCO1, CORT1, ICPN1, CIGA1, and TPCP1A. F-GAS and catering qualifications (desirable). Valid UK driving licence. Strong technical knowledge of commercial gas and plumbing systems, equipment, and controls. Excellent communication and customer service skills with a commitment to safety and compliance. L8 Awareness and knowledge of SFG20 (desirable). Electrical skills or qualifications (desirable).
