HR Officer

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced HR Officer to work with Bolton Council on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative HR team, providing advice and support across a range of employment matters. This role will involve delivering HR interventions, offering professional guidance to managers and staff, and contributing to the continuous development of the council’s HR policies and practices. Main Duties: * Provide high quality advice to managers on employment law and HR policies * Support the implementation of HR frameworks, including recruitment, grievance, disciplinary, and absence management * Advise on organisational change, including restructures and redeployment * Lead or support casework across a range of HR issues * Conduct research into HR policy and best practice to inform service improvement * Collaborate effectively with colleagues across HR, Occupational Health, and Organisational Development * Prepare HR reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders * Participate in consultations with trade unions to maintain effective partnership working * Manage or support small project teams where required * Continue professional development in line with CIPD standards Essential Criteria: * CIPD Level 5 qualification * Experience of providing HR advice and support on casework, policy, or employee relations matters, ideally within a Public Sector entity * Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build strong working relationships * Competent in Microsoft Office and HR information systems * Ability to work independently and flexibly across multiple priorities If your skills match the above criteria, please apply with your up-to-date CV
