Maintenance Helper POSITIONSUMMARY The primary purpose of the Utility position is to provide help as directed with basic janitorial and light maintenance task as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager. Incumbent may be asked to help in other areas of the plant, including production and need to be extremely flexible as a routine part of their job. DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES Performalljanitorialtasksasdirected. Performallbasicmaintenancecleaning(wipingdown,blowingout,and lubricating) tasks as directed Maintaincastersonallcarts/gondolas Maintainnewgoodswarehouse(communicatestocklevelonkeyitems) Possiblyperformanceofbasicpreventativemaintenanceoncetrainedandas directed. Advisesupervisorifanyworkisnotdoneasscheduled. Advisesupervisorifanyworkrevealsseriousissues Inspecteyewashstationsandothersafetyitems Workcollaborativelywithallemployees,alwaysrememberingthatthe maintenance department services production. Responsibleforsafemachineoperation: Don'ttakeshortcuts-alwaysfollowpropersafetyprocedureswhen working on or around machinery. Followalllockout/tagoutprocedureswhendirected. Performallrepairworkondemandinacarefulandefficientmanner. Seekcounselfromsupervisorwhenprioritiesareconflicting Mayneedtoserveasbackupforproductionjobsasneeded. Notifysupervisorwhenmaintenanceorcleaningsuppliesarelowsothatthey can be replenished on time. Seekoutworkwhenjanitorialworkisnotreadilyavailable,suchascleaning machinery or ensuring that the plant is clean and tidy. Becreativeaboutcomingupwithideasforimprovements. AttendSafetyMeetingsasdirected. Anyotherdutiesasassignedordeemednecessary. Mustbeflexibleasfarasstartingandcompletiontimes DECISIONMAKINGACCOUNTABILITY Thefollowingphysicalrequirementsarenecessarytoperformtheessential functions of this position: Constant standingduringworkinghours.
