Mission Analyses the P&L of the business units to optimise results and achieve objectives. Performs control functions within the business unit. Responsibilities Proposes and supports improvements in their area and other areas of the business unit thanks to their knowledge about the business unit. OPERATIONS – Directly supervises the Administration and Dry Storage areas of the business unit, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Consolidate and analyse feedback received from hotels in their area of responsibility about needs and opportunities. Advise the business, providing an overall vision to the different departments, supporting them in the decision-making process and identifying opportunities for improvement. Analyse relevant information (financial or otherwise) from operational departments in order to maximise results. Proactively aim to improve profitability in the business unit, detecting synergies and maximising results. Ensure the correct opening or disaffiliation of the business unit from the Administration and Dry Storage perspective. For new hotel openings, implement procedures, manage duties specified in the contract and control the pre-opening budget. BUDGET / CLOSE OF ACCOUNTS – Transfer specific local needs regarding the budget to the business unit. Prepare the cost and revenue budgets following the guidelines received. Ensure compliance with the budget, detect deviations, define corrective measures and monitor those measures. Implement the local close of accounts and review the correct implementation of the centralised monthly closure process, ensuring results reflect the reality of the business. Implement the forecasting and reforecasting process with the rest of the executive committee, analysing actual data and future trends and developing different scenarios. Analyse reasons for deviations and support the implementation of corrective actions in the business unit. CONTROL – Apply the Hotel Management and Accounting rules, processes and procedures. Safeguard supplier contracts, insurance policies and legal documents for the business unit. Assist with internal audits, defining action plans to resolve any incidents reported. Assist in external audit processes. Supervise and ensure proper internal control. Receive a monthly copy of cash control reports for the hotel and reports on relevant incidents, as available through MHS or the hotel administration team. Supervise and ensure the optimisation of cost items that affect the results of each hotel. Supervise warehouse management in the business unit. Directly supervise the team that carries out tasks requiring a local presence, ensuring the correct delivery of administration and dry storage services in the business unit. INVESTMENTS – Analyze investment requests from business units, preparing Business Cases to determine viability. Supervise the progress of works with regard to cost vs. budget. Monitor projects and investments within their business units to ensure commitments are met. CORPORATE / FINANCIAL – Responsible for an entire country, prepare annual accounts for the companies and coordinate the external audit process. In managed hotels or joint ventures, provide support in the relationship and in preparing reports for hotel owners. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the cash budget for the business units under their responsibility. Share joint power of account management. TRANSACTIONAL – In hotels with centralized Credit Management, monitor pending payments, service quality, and SLAs. In other hotels, monitor payment collection processes to ensure timely requests and collections and reduce the average collection period. In hotels with centralized MHS service, monitor service received and compliance with SLAs. Monitor processes and compliance with standards and provide ongoing training for the team. Identify and propose improvements to maximise efficiency in their work and in the administration team. REAL ESTATE – Handle documentation for (sub)leasing and space leasing contracts, ensuring validity of documents, deposit security deposits timely, invoicing leases, calculating variable rents and expenses, and following up on non-payment. ECONOMIC-FINANCIAL – Participate in the preparation of their department’s budget and projections, analyse deviations, and promote corrective actions with the Business Partner. Periodically analyse the P&L of their department and communicate results to their team. Ensure orders for materials and services are processed properly. Monitor compliance with regulations and participate in audits. Requirements At least 3/5 years of experience in the role in Hospitality or Hotellerie University education in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting Advanced English and Spanish a plus Knowledge of hotel business management and their specific requirements Knowledge of projections, budgeting, financial results reporting Knowledge of accounting and financial regulations Management of economic and financial systems Knowledge of hotel operations Tool management: PMS, SAP, Office Package At Meliá we are all VIP Great professionals who make everyday life easier and exceptional.
