Job Description Job Description Overview Eide Machinery Sales, Inc., a leader in the Wood Product and Fabrication Industries since 1927, is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator Level II to join our growing team. This role focuses on metal fabrication and repair, with opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive and innovative work environment. Duties and Responsibilities Build and assemble metal components based on blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment. Perform high-quality MIG welding on steel parts in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead). Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and fitting parts to ensure they are ready for welding and minimize scrap and rework. Produce timely and detailed labor reports, tracking work progress, material usage, and any issues encountered during fabrication. Safely operate forklifts and other lifting devices for material handling, ensuring all items are properly secured and transported without damage. Track and maintain material usage records to ensure efficient inventory control and support future ordering of necessary supplies. Support shop operations by assisting with related tasks as required, including cleaning, maintenance, and setting up equipment. Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in safety training and meetings. Capable of identifying area hazards and following safety requirements to mitigate risks associated with the work environment. Work effectively as part of a team, contributing to the success of group projects and collaborating with colleagues to meet production deadlines. Quality-oriented, with attention to detail, ensuring all finished products meet quality standards and customer expectations. Utilize shop math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in a variety of units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, decimals) to ensure accurate measurements and fabrication. Requirements Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MIG welding and steel fabrication. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment (e.g., bandsaws, Oxy/Acetylene torches). Ability to perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50–70 lbs, and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods. Drive a forklift and use lifting devices. High school diploma or GED; further technical education is a plus.
