You'll find career opportunities that live up to your ambitions and be able to further develop your unique set of skills.So, if you're looking to do what you love, we could be a perfect match.Expectations:Reporting to the Manager, Capital Asset Accounting, the Senior Analyst will act as an expert in his(her) field and provide support to various stakeholders within the organization. Responsibilities include accounting of capital assets, leases, impairment, and assets held for sale. The Senior Analyst must understand and apply the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He(she) will contribute to the preparation and reliability of financial information, while analyzing the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow. Rôle:Act as a key reference to ensure accounting of leases and fixed assets complies with IFRS.Review and analyze lease agreements to determine proper accounting treatment.Oversee the fixed asset management module and the lease accounting module.Prepare and document reconciliations between balance sheet, income statement and the various subledgers (project management module, fixed asset module, lease accounting module).Record month-end journal entries related to assets held for sale, fixed assets, right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, financing contracts, onerous contract, and favorable/unfavorable leases.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including real estate, legal, fleet management, tax, treasury, and FP&A teams.Support and collaborate with the company's subsidiaries by preparing monthly entries and schedules for their lease accounting.Prepare the baseline budget and quarterly forecasts for depreciation and amortization across the organization.Participate in interim and year-end external audit processes.Identify and propose improvements and optimizations for the accounting team and related processes.Ensure internal controls within their area of responsibility are adequate and adhered to.Lead or take part in ad hoc and special requests (financial monitoring of project resources, design and updating of reports, process automation/optimization, etc.)Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or FinanceCPA designation is mandatoryIn-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar roleKnowledge of the retail industryStrong analytical skills, rigor, and ability to synthesize informationProficiency with MS Office applications, particularly advanced ExcelExperience with accounting software and budgeting tools (Oracle / EBS / TM1)Excellent ability to prioritize in a fast-paced and evolving work environmentAbility to build positive working relationships with all colleaguesStrong business acumen and ability to understand and interpret complex topicsResults-oriented with the ability to deliver high-quality workBilingualism (French and English) both written and spoken (Frequent communications with internal/external partners and/or clients/employees outside of Québec)By joining the RONA family, you'll enjoy many benefits, such as:A childcare centre that can accommodate up to 78 childrenA cafeteria with a delicious menu prepared by a dedicated chef, healthy options, as well as FARO Roasting Houses and Tim Hortons coffee stationsElectric car charging stationsA fitness centre, sports activities, and showersExclusive employee discounts, plus a 10% discount on store merchandise (at all RONA locations)Benefits: retirement savings plan, annual bonuses, student incentive program, etc.Career growth opportunities within the companyAn inclusive and safe working environmentPromotion of work-life balanceAn employer that's involved in the communityAnd much more!If selected for an interview, please advise our Human Resources team if you require accommodation during the interview and assessment process and we will work with you to meet your accessibility needs.RONA is committed to encouraging diversity and inclusion.
