Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The speech-language pathologist is a member of the New Brunswick Cochlear Implant Support Services (NBCISS) team and addresses the needs of NBCISS patients of all ages, and colleagues. They may also provide services to other children and adults with communication differences/difficulties and swallowing difficulties. Services include prevention, identification, evaluation, and treatment for inpatients and outpatients. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Registered member of the New Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists; Experience with patients who use hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc is considered an asset; Experience with understanding the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing population; Current BLS certificate; Ability to work independently and as a team member; Physical ability to perform assigned duties; Good previous work history (performance and attendance); Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values; Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network. The above requirements may be verified through oral, written or practical tests during the selection process.
