Our client is Canada’s largest retailer. The AdTech group is looking for a Sr Data Engineer with Scala, Spark, Python, SQL and GCP experience to build out a Customer data insights engine. - Location: 2x/week onsite at Bathurst and Lakeshore. - Duration: 6 months - Project: Building out a customer data insights tool. Key Areas of Focus: Data Pipeline & Modeling : Experience building and optimizing data pipelines (batch streaming), semantic layers, and robust data models using tools like DBT, Airflow, and GCP services (DataProc, BigQuery, Bigtable, Druid). Programming & Querying : Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, and strong ability to write complex SQL for data analysis and transformation. Cloud & Infrastructure : Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (especially GCP), Git, and understanding of data warehousing concepts. Testing & Data Quality : Ability to implement testing strategies and data validation to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity. Stakeholder Collaboration : Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally across business units and support analytics in a fast-paced, agile environment. Must Haves: 8 years of Data Engineering experience GCP Scala, Spark Python and SQL Apply
