Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Belleville, Ontario. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in financial systems and processes to analyze data, generate reports, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. Your ability to work with advanced accounting software and tools will be essential to ensuring accurate and actionable financial insights.We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst to join our Support Services team. This role supports full-cycle accounting processes and financial reporting across the organization and its related entities. Working closely with internal staff, volunteers, and external service providers, this position plays a key role in safeguarding financial assets and maintaining strong financial governance.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and manage month-end close tasks, including daily deposit reviews, cheque and EFT package reviews, credit card reconciliations, journal entry approvals, bank reconciliations, and general account reconciliationsEnsure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesAssist in preparing financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP and applicable federal and provincial regulationsSupport preparation and submission of required regulatory filings (e.g., HST, annual filings, tax compliance forms)Assist in maintaining and enhancing internal controls over financial reportingSupport annual budgeting and financial forecasting processesAssist in managing external audits, helping ensure audit and compliance requirements are metRecommend and help implement approved accounting policies and best practicesPerform special projects and additional duties as assignedUniversity degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA designation (or in active pursuit) preferredMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or audit experienceExperience in not-for-profit or charitable sector preferredProficiency in accounting systems (Sage/ACCPAC preferred) and advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables; macros an asset)Strong knowledge of ASNPO accounting standards preferredStrong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to exercise sound judgment and handle confidential informationKey Skills & CompetenciesStrong initiative and ability to work independentlyExcellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsProfessional demeanor and ability to build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholdersResults-oriented mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality workRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
