Assistant Controller *ON SITE*

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their growing team in the St. Thomas area, near South London, Ontario. This role is pivotal in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and driving collaboration across departments. The position offers the chance to contribute to strategic initiatives while managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead month-end processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliations, utilizing advanced Excel skills.Oversee revenue recognition for project accounting with a focus on accurate tracking and compliance.Reconcile commissions from systems like Salesforce and ensure proper accruals are reflected in payroll.Support inventory management, including transitioning from cycle counts to physical counts, while addressing non-conformance items.Conduct payroll reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with month-end reporting.Collaborate with various departments to align on cross-functional initiatives and streamline processes.Perform variance analysis and assist in both budgeting and forecasting efforts to support strategic decisions.Contribute to year-end review engagements and prepare relevant bank covenant reporting.Manage intercompany transactions, including revenue and expense allocations across multiple divisions.Assist with special projects, such as the implementation of new accounting systems to ensure smooth transitions and customizations.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of accounting experience; prior experience in a similar role is an asset.Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Solid understanding of payroll processes and reconciliation practices.Experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.Familiarity with revenue recognition and project accounting methodologies.Knowledge of budgeting, variance analysis, and intercompany transaction management.Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
