0.2 FTE (term) Primary Classroom teacher, Crawford Bay Elementary/Secondary

Crawford Bay School is seeking a skilled and reflective educator to lead our primary class one day per week (Wednesdays, Kindergarten to Grade 2). The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of early science education, numeracy, and literacy development, with a vision to design and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of young learners. This includes effectively supporting very early learners-those still developing foundational number and literacy concepts-while extending and enriching the learning of students working beyond grade level expectations. The teacher will value inquiry-based and play-based approaches that promote curiosity, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding in authentic contexts. A deep knowledge of developmental learning progressions, combined with skill in managing a very active and diverse primary classroom, is essential. Salary Range; $63,367 - $111,488 per year, in accordance with the current SD8-Kootenay Lake / KLTF Collective Agreement. Placement on the salary grid is based on qualifications and years of teaching experience as evaluated by the BC Teacher Qualification Service (TQS).
