Relief Consultant | Luxury Travel & Tours Location: Johannesburg / Remote with 2/3 days in office Salary: R30,000 Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly organised and proactive Relief Consultant to join a globally respected luxury travel company. This is a hands-on, dynamic role ideal for an experienced inbound tour consultant who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting operations, sales, and product management. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the workload of assigned consultants during periods of absence (sickness, leave, or education) Handle re-quotes, ongoing proposals, operations management, and other consultant tasks Assist with the development and booking of agent and hosted educational trips Work closely with Sales to ensure seamless delivery of itineraries and experiences Implement and test systems and procedures within the team Chase provisional bookings and follow up on leads during quieter periods Load bookings for consultants during peak seasons and assist with Small Group Journeys Support procurement of new suppliers and products to enhance the Group Department offerings Occasionally travel with groups to assist with operational delivery Knowledge Required: Strong understanding of the tourism industry, including current trends, travel channels, and destination management Familiarity with terms, conditions, markets, and product offerings relevant to &Beyond Basic knowledge of crisis management protocols, emergency response, and risk mitigation Good knowledge of South Africa, Southern, and East Africa destinations, with ability to provide informed recommendations Skills Required: Meticulous attention to detail for accurate itineraries, documentation, and client communication Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently Initiative and problem-solving ability to anticipate challenges and implement solutions Analytical mindset and creativity for operational and logistical problem-solving Collaboration and coordination with team members, partners, and stakeholders Proficiency in Tourplan, Wetu, and Microsoft Office Suite advantageous Personal Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and tailored guest experiences Adaptability to dynamic and unpredictable work environments Confidence to work independently and make decisions under pressure Diligent, self-motivated, and administration-driven Willingness to share knowledge, mentor, and inspire others Experience Required: Minimum 3–5 years of inbound tour consulting experience Demonstrated ability to manage bookings, suppliers, and operational processes in luxury travel Package & Benefits: Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience Opportunity to join a globally respected luxury travel brand Hands-on, dynamic role with exposure to operations, sales, and product development
