American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/08/2025 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license and Epic experience. Responsibilities Position is on a high-turnover Medical Surgical unit within a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working 3x12 hour shifts Required to work every other weekend Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-6 Care for patients with diagnoses such as ostomy, colon resection, colon/bladder cancer, GU, and medical overflow Special procedures include foley catheters, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), and protocols for colorectal patients Administration of Heparin, Lidocaine (pain only), Bicarb, Bivaldirubin, and occasional Amiodarone drips Handles PCAs, epidurals, and CBIs with various irrigation solutions Utilizes remote monitoring telemetry equipment and Epic EMR (Epic experience required) Floating within the service line as needed High-turnover surgical patient environment with exposure to complex medical and surgical cases Expected to support protocols for colorectal and GU patients, and provide specialized post-op care Team-based nursing with floating required within service lines to meet facility needs Required to wear navy scrubs No on-call responsibilities RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week Permanent former employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler Travelers can work for up to 18 months before a mandatory 3-month break Night shift parking provided at no charge in employee parking lots Completion of pre-start modules is required prior to orientation Requirements Active MO or compact RN license BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience Experience with Epic EMR is required Demonstrated skills in Med/Surg, remote telemetry monitoring, colostomy care, feeding tube care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, IV starts, phlebotomy, Heparin, insulin, and PCA Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility First time travelers not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624104.
