Location: Sumaré, São Paulo, BR, 13.177‑435 Facility: SAO PAULO SUMARE‑5502 Department: PAD Americas – Consumer and Ind Division: Global APS The Technology Manager directs a multidisciplinary technical team, including engineers, researchers, and lab technicians, to achieve business unit goals in product development, innovation, technical support, and analytical laboratory work. The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define and implement business strategies, develop innovative products, and optimize assets while ensuring alignment across interdependencies. A Day in the Life Manage the CCS Technology team in accordance with GoalZero HSE, Operational Excellence, and all relevant local or legal requirements. Create a motivated, proactive, and efficient workforce based on the company’s culture and values, fostering a safe, rewarding, and inclusive environment. Interface with business management, sales, and other functions to plan, prepare, implement, and lead technical product/application development projects aligned with market trends and business strategy. Understand broader customer, market, and industry needs, facilitating cross‑functional interactions to translate trends into value‑added opportunities. Identify new opportunities to improve technical service and customer training offerings. Support pre‑ and post‑sales technical activities and resolve product performance complaints according to LYB procedures and processes. Control fixed costs for all assigned cost centers and ensure the annual budget is not exceeded. Direct product development activities, specifications, and compliance with customer needs using GIGP and Accolade platforms. Manage the evaluation and utilization of slow‑moving or obsolete materials to reduce inventory. Supervise support to manufacturing sites during scale‑up of developments or technical substitutions, working closely with laboratories to ensure data accuracy. Oversee basic research and innovation efforts to deliver novel technical solutions for LYB APS customers, collaborating with external partners. Approve new materials, ensuring competitiveness of finished products through coordination with purchasing, safety, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. Coordinate laboratory activities to support the Technology team’s goals, including KPI setting and scope definition. Plan advancements in analytical support lab capabilities through CAPEX and OPEX, acquiring equipment and skilled professionals. Attend trade shows and conferences, promoting LYB as a technical leader through presentations, webinars, and marketing activities. Lead global projects coordination within the Technology team. Perform additional duties related to the region and Technology team as required. You Bring This Value Education: Degree in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline; Master’s or Doctorate preferred. Work Experience: Deep knowledge of polymer structure, properties, processing technologies, and application industries. Experience with compound formulations and raw materials (stabilizers, fillers, film additives, pigments, etc.). Minimum 15 years in compounding or the polymer industry, preferably within the film conversion sector (blown/cast PE/PP film, BOPP film).
