Job Description
Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana is seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Manager to join our mission-driven team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our inventory processes are efficient and effective, enabling us to serve communities across 21 counties in Indiana. As a pivotal part of our organization, you will manage inventory accuracy, coordinate with various departments, and develop strategies to optimize our resource allocation. Develop and implement inventory control systems and procedures to maintain accurate records of food and non-food items. Oversee daily inventory operations, ensuring timely stocking and distribution coordination. Lead periodic audits of physical inventory to verify stock levels and report discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with purchasing and warehouse departments to optimize inventory levels and reduce wastage. Analyse data to forecast inventory needs and prepare budget reports for senior management. Train and manage inventory staff, ensuring a high level of accuracy and accountability. Liaise with external suppliers and internal departments to resolve any inventory issues. Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations in the handling and storage of food products. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Proficient in inventory management software and databases. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
