Deli Buyer & Merchandiser I Cape Town

is seeking a detail-oriented and trend-aware for a farm-to-table Deli Eatery based in Cape Town. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong understanding of food retail, local sourcing, and artisanal products, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has an eye for both numbers and aesthetics. You will play a key role in curating, sourcing, and presenting the deli’s retail offering, ensuring that the selection reflects the brand’s ethos of quality, sustainability, and authenticity. Requirements: · Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in buying, procurement, or merchandising within a deli, retail, or hospitality environment. · Strong knowledge of local produce, artisanal food products, and sustainability-driven sourcing. · Solid understanding of inventory control, cost management, and retail operations. · Computer literate – proficient in MS Office and relevant POS/inventory systems. · Excellent organisational, negotiation, and relationship management skills. · Ability to balance creative presentation with commercial awareness. · Source and procure quality ingredients, produce, and artisanal retail products that align with the deli’s farm-to-table philosophy. · Plan and manage stock levels to ensure optimal product availability and minimal waste. · Stay up to date with market trends, seasonal changes, and emerging local producers. · Monitor product performance, pricing, and profitability, making informed recommendations for improvement. – ASAP – To be discussed – live out – Open to Southern Africa candidates ➡️PLEASE NOTE – Although we appreciate all applications received, we will only reply to those candidates who have the background and experience required.
