GROUP FINANCIAL MANAGER Robertson A well-established and trusted name in the building materials and home improvement industry is seeking an experienced Group Financial manager to join their Finance team. ROLE OVERVIEW The Financial Manager is responsible for leading and strengthening the financial management function by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, effective budgeting and forecasting, robust internal controls, and well-structured systems and procedures. With a strong existing accounting team in place, the Financial Manager’s focus will be on management, oversight, analysis, systems, and strategy. The incumbent will work closely with the Directors to professionalise financial operations, improve management information, and support the business through its next phase of growth. KEY OBJECTIVES Establish strong financial governance, controls, and management information systems. Deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting to support decision-making. Lead and mentor the finance department and develop its people. Support the implementation and optimisation of IQ Retail across all branches. Build a structured financial framework to enable sustainable business growth. Provide strategic financial input and advice to management and directors. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Leadership & Strategy to a group of companies Financial Reporting and Documentation Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management Financial Systems & Internal Controls Debtors & Creditors Management Stock Control & Costing Compliance, Taxation & Audit Risk & Insurance Team Leadership and Collaborations REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA) is strongly preferred. Minimum 8 years’ relevant financial management experience Exposure to multi-entity / retail / distribution environments advantageous Strong experience managing finance teams and implementing systems Demonstrable expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Advanced Excel and system reporting proficiency KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Knowledge: IFRS for SME’s, Companies Act, Tax and VAT legislation Financial management across multi-branch or retail operations Advanced understanding of ERP financial systems Skills: Strategic financial planning and business partnering Leadership and people development Excellent communication and stakeholder management Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability Competencies: Commercial acumen and strategic thinking Integrity, professionalism and accountability Structured, organised and detail-oriented Change leadership and adaptability TO APPLY: I f you're interested in this opportunity, please:
