Science Tutor

Specialist Science Tutor Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams and Schools throughout the UK. We have a high demand for one-to-one or small group Science Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and are commutable to the Oldham area area. The Opportunity As a Science Tutor, we are looking for someone to work with a Year 11 learner in the Oldham area to support with his upcoming Science GCSE exams. He is on roll with a local school so support will be required on the weekends in the morning. Contract/Position Details: · Location Oldham · Position Science Tutor · Type of work Contract · Start date ASAP · Setting either within the students home or in the community (learning hub/library) · Duration Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement · Contract type Temporary · Full-time/part-time availability, · Rate of pay up to GBP30 per hour Your role with us: · Deliver one-to-one or tuition supporting students with SEND, focusing on building confidence, helping to adapt the students methods of learning and focusing on Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 level education. · Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps. · Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families. · Complete daily attendance and weekly reports. Experience, Training and Qualifications of the SEND Specialist Tutor: · Children related/Education qualification · Possess UK classroom teaching experience · Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box · Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviours To be eligible for this role, the potential SEND Specialist Tutor must: · Hold the right to work in the UK · Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application · Have a background in Tutoring Key stage 3 or Key Stage 4 level science · Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment Apply Now Please apply within or contact (url removed) Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
