Responsibilities The position is located in a hospital Birth Center with 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED beds, and 3 ORs Patient population includes high-acuity obstetric cases, laboring and antepartum patients, and postpartum care Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active laboring, and 1:2-3 for antepartum based on acuity Handles up to 300 deliveries per month with a 33% C-section rate Shifts are 12 hours nights (1900-0730) Every other weekend rotation is required, but schedule may vary No mandatory call requirements, but additional open shifts may be available Floating may be required within antepartum and postpartum units, based on scope and experience Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis medication dispensing, Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Centricity/Qx fetal monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs Orientation includes hospital onboarding plus two weeks on the unit and one week independently with preceptor support Responsibilities include labor management, delivery support, OB triage, circulating in the OR, and recovering mother and baby post-birth Will care for high-risk obstetric patients with conditions such as hypertension, preterm labor, diabetes management, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage Support on unit includes CNAs, scrub techs, receptionists, charge nurse, phlebotomy, resource RN, respiratory therapy, laborists, residents, and anesthesia coverage Fair and equitable holiday coverage is required Scrubs are provided by the facility and must not be worn outside Free parking with badge access is available First-time travelers may be considered upon review Requirements Current RN license required Minimum of three years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience is required; five or more years preferred BLS, NRP, and Intermediate FHM (AWHONN) certifications are required High-acuity obstetric experience including management and delivery of high-risk OB patients, OB triage, circulating in OR, cervical checks, and reading/interpreting fetal monitoring strips is required Epic EMR experience is required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-587332.
