American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Yakima, Washington. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 19 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-acuity, large-volume Level III trauma center with strong pediatric and critical care skills required. Responsibilities Work in the Emergency Department of a Level III trauma center with 34 beds plus 12 hallway beds Serve a diverse patient population from neonate to geriatric, including pediatrics, behavioral health, stroke, and cardiac cases Patient ratios range from 1:3-5 based on acuity, with a 13-bed fast track zone Shifts are 12 hours, primarily days, with multiple day/evening variations as assigned Weekend rotation is required every other weekend, with flexibility needed for scheduling Expected to cover 1-2 holidays per contract No floating to other units and no on-call required Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors Responsible for drawing own labs, especially during night shifts Support staff includes ED techs, medical assistants, phlebotomy until 2300, advanced practice providers, and 24/7 security Hospital orientation includes NEO and 1-2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor while taking patient assignments Scrub color is flexible, any color without logos Free parking is available on site Holiday and weekend shifts are expected parts of the schedule Teamwork is emphasized with a supportive charge nurse and dedicated ancillary staff Requirements Active RN license required Minimum 3 years recent ED experience in a large-volume, high-acuity setting Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC Strong emergency nursing skills including critical care, pediatric emergencies, triage, and trauma support Proficiency with chest tubes, arterial lines, blood administration, Bipap/ventilators, and splinting Experience with barcode scanning medication administration and managing medication drips Must pass hospital's Triage Test before being allowed to triage Epic EMR experience strongly recommended First-time travelers will not be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-599910.
