Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a temporary Housing Support Worker to join our client’s team in Halifax. This is a full-time role , Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, for a two/three-month period . The hourly rate is £13.74 , with some flexibility depending on experience. About the Service The client provides accommodation and support for individuals who have experienced homelessness, including rough sleeping. The service offers: 24 units in total Staff are available 24/7, 365 days a year . The service is person-led and strength-based , focusing on individuals’ assets rather than deficits. It is co-produced and works in partnership with other organisations to ensure timely and effective support. Key Responsibilities Manage housing-related tasks including tenancy enforcement, rent collection, maintenance coordination, and void minimisation. Conduct regular security, health, and safety checks in line with statutory requirements. Ensure properties and communal areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Provide practical support and guidance to tenants on housing-related matters. Foster positive community relations and address neighbour disputes where necessary. Collaborate with external professionals and agencies to assess and meet tenant needs. Create a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages feedback and continuous improvement. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management as required. Essential Requirements Ability to maintain professional boundaries. Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Willingness to undertake relevant training. Flexibility in working approach. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
