Material Handler

As a Material Handler at Had-Fab, you’ll work outdoors in our busy steel fabrication yard, supporting production by safely moving, loading, and organising steel and materials. This is a hands-on, physical role that involves operating forklifts and performing general labouring duties to keep the yard running smoothly. Main Duties and Responsibilities • Handle, move, and position steel and materials safely across the yard and workshops • Load and unload deliveries using forklifts and manual handling techniques • Check materials for damage and report issues to the supervisor • Match deliveries with paperwork and ensure stock is correctly stored • Assist with general labouring duties such as tidying, cleaning, and preparing materials for production • Support stock control activities and help maintain an organised work environment • Work outdoors in all weather conditions following safety procedures Reporting & Interfaces • Reports to the Black Yard Supervisor / Stock Controller • Works closely with the fabrication and workshop teams Health, Safety & Environment • Follow all HSE procedures and wear required PPE • Report accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions via Mango • Take part in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training • Promote a clean, safe, and efficient working environment Skills & Experience • Experience working in an outdoor yard, warehouse, or industrial environment • Forklift licence or experience operating material handling equipment (advantage) • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors year-round • Strong awareness of manual handling and site safety • Reliable, hardworking, and a team player with a positive attitude
