35 hours per week £44,757 – 48,453 (pay award pending) Temporary for 12 months Dundee Closing date: 8am on Monday 10 November 2025 About the role Due to recent staff movement, we have an exciting opportunity within our Regulation Directorate focusing on fitness to practise and regulatory improvement. In this role, you will join a team of social service professionals who work collaboratively to enhance regulatory processes and outcomes. Day to day, you will provide sector advice to the Fitness to Practise department on risk assessments, investigations, decisions, and conditions relating to the fitness to practise of social service workers. You will also support organisational change by advising on sector developments relevant to the fitness to practise process. In addition, you will deliver training to colleagues on sector-specific matters and engage with external stakeholders on related issues. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a recognised social work qualification and experience in social work, ideally complemented by broader experience across the social services sector. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in protecting the public, promoting high standards of practice, and improving outcomes for those involved in the fitness to practise process. This role is suitable for secondment arrangements up to 12 months - at the end of the secondment the post holder will return to their substantive post and organisation. What you need to succeed a recognised degree or equivalent qualification in social work (SCQF level 10) be eligible for registration with SSSC a minimum of four years frontline experience in social work an understanding of expected standards within social services work knowledge and understanding of child protection and protected adult responsibilities knowledge of the Scottish legal framework and policy landscape of social services practice Experience of preparing evidence-based reports on complex/sensitive matters experience of assessing, managing and advising on risk experience of analysing complex and lengthy information and editing it down to relevant facts/issues experience of designing and delivering training, and presenting information to a range of audiences ability to manage a range of competing demands and meet deadlines. proven leadership and influencing skills, and a flexible and proactive approach to work.
